The colour spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be percieved by the human eye; light reflects off objects in different colours with different degrees of refrangibility. The spectrum is divided into 7 colours, most of us identify them as the colours of the rainbow.
Arranged in order:
Red - Orange - Yellow - Green - Blue - Indigo – Violet.
The colour wheel helps us choose colours and combinations of colours.
We have the 3 primary colours or “pure pigments” these cannot be created by mixing other colours.
They are separated by secondary colours created by mixing 2 primary colours on either side. Tertiary colours are created by mixing a primary with a secondary colour.
